Submissions

Submissions now closed.

Now accepting Symposium Submissions, Oral/Poster Abstract Submissions, Lightning Abstract Submissions, and Workshop Proposals!
Deadline: Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST 

Instructions for putting together submissions can be found by clicking on the below submission portals.

Submissions regarding any aspect of anthrozoology will be considered.

An individual may be a co-author on multiple presentations but should be the presenter on only one presentation.

Oral/Poster Abstract

A Standard Oral Presentation involves a 15-minute oral presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

A Poster Presentation involves presenting a poster during the designated poster session.

Symposium

A Symposium features a 5-minute introduction from a Chair, four 15-minute themed presentations from four separate studies, and a 10-minute integrative presentation from a Discussant, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.

Lightning Abstract

An Lightning Presentation involves a 5-minute oral presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

Workshop Proposal

A Workshop is a 1.5 hours session on one of a variety of topics including career development, skill building, and special interest topics. Workshop spots are limited.

ISAZ will offer Student Travel Awards, a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Award, and an Early Career Award in 2026. Additionally, student presenters can opt-in to the Student Presentation Award Competition through the submission portals. The deadline for these awards is 11:59 PM PST on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Based in Paris, the Adrienne and Pierre Sommer Foundation is a private, independent, and non-profit organization founded in 1971 by Adrienne and Pierre Sommer, two industrialists passionate about the interactions between humans and animals. A pioneer in France in promoting animal-assisted interventions, the Foundation supports projects that involve animals for educational, social, or therapeutic purposes. It also conducts educational programs for children to foster a better understanding of pets and domestic animals, in collaboration with professionals in education, child development, and social and healthcare fields.

Founded in 1991, the International Society for Anthrozoology (ISAZ) is a non-political, non-profit organization that supports the development of scientific and academic research on human-animal interactions.
